Mountain State Birding Festival

Blackwater Falls State Park is hosting a new nature event for bird enthusiasts led by birding expert, Bill Beatty of Wellsburg, West Virginia May 31- June 2. This event is designed to give advanced birders and beginning birders a chance to see and listen to birds in a variety of scenic mountain habitats. There will be field trips on Saturday and Sunday, but are limited to 30 people.

Blackwater Falls State Park is one of West Virginia’s best bird watching regions. The park is located nearby to Canaan Valley Resort State Park, Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Dolly Sods Wilderness Area and Otter Creek Wilderness Area. Not only is Tucker County home to vast wilderness but, also lively mountain towns known for art galleries, breweries, and restaurants. We are a true mountain destination.
