Yes, we all prayed for the rain to stop but not the extreme heat!  Just remember in Tucker County, WV we are typically 10-15 coolers than where you are.  Along with all that rain that means Blackwater Outdoor Adventures is in full swing with whitewater rafting trips, canoeing, tubing and more.  Check them out it’s a great way to cool off!

Also don’t forget this time of year the Blueberries or Huckleberries, take your pick, are ripening and ready for picking!  Take a trip up to Dolly Sods and you’ll find bushes after bushes ready for picking.  Stop by Bear Rocks Preserve for a “don’t miss” overlook!

Following a premature little October storm named Sandy (40+ inches), the ski resorts are getting more and more terrain open for your skiing/riding/tubing enjoyment. Why go to a “mega resort” or something closer to the cities…everyone (and their brother) can do that. Spend a little extra time to enjoy your winter vacation in the real mountains of West Virginia. Few (if any) crowds, affordable for every budget, wide variety of lodging choices, 150-200 inches of natural snow per year and more make this the logical choice!
