4 Wild Walks Weekend
Leaf peepers - take a guided walk through the colorful Canaan Mountain between State Parks Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley Resort. This eight mile walk will be conducted by park naturalist, Destiny Phillips. Shuttle service provided, registration fee charged. For further info, call the Nature Center at (304) 866-4121 x2688. 10-12 Oktoberfest Bavarian Style Weekend Celebration.
This weekend features German food and music at the Timberline Fireside Grill and Timbers Pub. A full menu is also available. Live entertainment from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. There is no cover charge. Scenic chairlift operational to the mountain summit to 4,268 feet depending on the weather. Mountain Bike Shop open daily. 25 Canaan Culinary University - Soups & Stocks
Executive Chef Nemat Odeh will conduct this class on creating classic soups & stocks. Items highlighted in this class include a basic stock, various varieties of stock, the “mother sauces”, and thickening agents. 24 – 26 Astronomy Weekend
Workshops, keynote speakers, and star parties are some the activities at this event with novice and more advanced amateur astronomers in mind.
