2 Mid Summer Walk Between The Parks. Canaan Resort.
Enjoy a guided 8 mile hike between Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley Resort State Park with our naturalist, Destiny Phillips.

1-2: Annual Frontier Weekend | Timberline Resort
Go back in time (circa 1835) for a weekend in the old West with authentic cow camp and chuck wagon complete with all the appropriate gear. Witness a live shoot out on horse back just behind Timberline Ski Lodge! Also enjoy trail rides, barbecue, square dancing, old western and mountain music live by the Saddle Tramps. Scenic chairlift rides Saturday and Sunday. Wear your western clothes and enjoy the events. There is no cover charge. Call early for reservations in the onsite hotel. Timbers Lodge features upscale rooms with scenic decks, two queen-size beds, plasma TVs. Whirlpool spas available in some rooms. Stay for the entire Frontier weekend including the late night menu and entertainment.
1-3: 5th Annual Pickin' In Parsons. Parsons.
A celebration of Bluegrass and Hillbilly music. Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Bobby Osborne and Rocky Top Xpress, Karl Shiflett and the Big Country Show from Texas, Bluegrass legend Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition from Tennessee, Faces Made for Radio from Ohio and many more are scheduled to perform. 9: 5th Annual BBQ Cook-off | Canaan Valley Resort
Join us as locals and guest fire up their grills to compete for the coveted first place bragging rights to Best BBQ in the following categories: Chicken, Beef and Pork. Musicians/Singers wanted to compete in the Third Mountain Music Festival. Cash prizes awarded in all events.

11: Mountain Festival / Annual BBQ Cook-Off | Canaan Valley Resort
Bring out your grills and compete for cash prizes in this crowd-pleasing annual event. Everyone welcome to join in -- bring your favorite recipes and share a sample with the crowd. While the cooks are busy, enjoy musical entertainment throughout the day provided by competitors (individuals and bands encouraged to compete).
